Hi gang! The holiday season is officially upon us. It's the time for cookie baking, non-stop Christmas music, and of course gift giving. I'm very lucky to have so many great people in my life that I want to treat to some Christmas goodies, but I'm on a tight budget and don't want to break the bank. Thankfully I don't have to. I'm a big believer of DIY gifts. They're inexpensive and you can add your own personal touch to each. My go-to gift this year are these adorable cookie making kits. The best part about these gifts is that they can be given to so many different people. You can give these to your co-workers, teachers, neighbors, and even family members. I don't know about you but baking really brings people together. Some of my favorite holiday memories are in the kitchen baking with my mom. Giving these little oven mitt cookie kits is a way of sharing one of my holiday traditions with someone else.
What you'll need to make these little kits can basically all be found at the Dollar Store.
You'll need:
-A festive oven mitt
- Holiday-themed cookie cutter
- Pre-made cookie mix, I chose sugar cookie
- Festive ribbon
- Fun gift tags
BONUS:
- Hot chocolate packet, because who doesn't love a cup of hot cocoa with some cookies?
To assemble these gifts all you need to do is place the cookie mix and hot chocolate into the oven mitt. The oven mitt also serves as gift wrapping for your present so no need to buy any gift bags or extra wrappings. Then using the ribbon, tie the cookie cutter onto the loop of the mitt and finish it off with a bow. Finally, tie the gift tag onto the oven mitt and voila, you have your gift all made and ready to give.
Of course, you can switch any of the content in the mitt up. Maybe swap the sugar cookie with gingerbread or chocolate chip. Throw in a small pack of ground coffee or add a small pack of decorative cookie icing. Garnish it all with a candy cane? It is all up to you! These are super customizable and super cute.
Well, that's it for now, time to go back to listening to the Michael Buble Christmas album on repeat!
