Lash Like A Boss

Mascara is a powerful tool in my makeup collection. It enhances your eyes and makes you look so awake and ALIVE. Mascara is an essential part of my makeup routine whether I'm going for my daily makeup for school and work or really glamming it up for a special occasion.
Let me know if you've tried these products and what you thought about them? Are there any other new drugstore mascara launches worth a try?
I'm not a big fan of high-end mascaras, although I do own a few. I think the drugstore has some amazing products. I was thrilled when Influenster sent me a complimentary tube of Maybelline's Colossal Big Shot mascara.
First of all, I love the marketing and branding of the product. Lash like a boss? Screams girl power, love it. The gold tube is also very chic and festive and really makes the product stand out in my makeup drawer.
When I first opened the mascara, I was a little nervous about the bristles. It looks very messy coming right out of the tube and I was concerned that there would be major clumping and uneven distribution of the product. I'm more used to a smaller brush with smaller bristles, somewhat like Benefit Roller Lash or Covergirl Supersizer Mascara. The Big Shot brush claims to hold more product in its bristles and really cradles the lashes in order to distribute mascara from root to tip.
I was very pleasantly surprised how smooth this applies and how volumizing and lengthening this mascara was. I have very straight eyelashes so having a product give them a lift without using an eyelash curler first is amazing for me.
The product doesn't flake throughout the day either. I've tested this product when I need to have my face on all day at work and it maintained its lift and volume all day.
Influenster also sent me the Master Precise Curvy Liquid eyeliner to try out. I wear liquid liner almost every day. A little kitten flick just really opens up my eyes. While the formula of this was great, I did not like the pen at all. It was a little hard to hold in my hand due to its shape. I also am not a fan of pen liquid liners. I prefer my brush and pot application from Elf. I think it gives me more control of the liquid and my cat eye.
